10 Days in Morocco: Casablanca, Fes, Sahara Desert & Marrakech

Day 1 : Casablanca Airport To The Hotel:

Upon your arrival at Mohammed V International Airport, our friendly team will warmly welcome you and assist you with your transfer to your hotel in the heart of Casablanca.

Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to begin your Moroccan adventure with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks and one of the largest mosques in Africa. Built on the Atlantic Ocean, this architectural masterpiece is renowned for its impressive minaret, intricate craftsmanship, and spectacular setting.

The last guided interior visit is at 3:00 PM, so if your arrival time does not allow you to visit the mosque on the first day, don’t worry — the visit can be arranged for the following morning.

Afterwards, enjoy some free time to relax at your hotel and settle into the vibrant atmosphere of Casablanca.

Day 2 : Casablanca- Rabat– Chefchaouen:

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, your Moroccan adventure continues as we drive north toward Rabat, the elegant capital and administrative heart of Morocco.

Upon arrival, explore some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the impressive Hassan Tower, an architectural masterpiece and one of Rabat’s most recognizable symbols. Continue to the charming Kasbah of the Oudayas, where whitewashed houses, traditional architecture, and panoramic views create a truly authentic Moroccan atmosphere.

From Rabat, we continue our scenic journey toward Chefchaouen, the enchanting “Blue City” nestled in the Rif Mountains. Along the way, we’ll make a few relaxing stops to capture memorable photographs of Morocco’s changing landscapes, picturesque countryside, and charming rural villages.

By late afternoon, arrive in Chefchaouen and step into its magical blue-washed medina, where winding alleyways, colorful doors, artisan shops, and peaceful squares create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Check in to a beautiful traditional riad in the heart of the medina, offering the perfect setting to unwind and experience authentic Moroccan hospitality.

Day 3 :  Fee Day To Explore Chefchaouen:

Today is all about slowing down and discovering the enchanting beauty of Chefchaouen at your own pace.

Enjoy a relaxing free day to explore the famous Blue City, wandering through its charming blue-painted alleyways and discovering hidden corners, colorful doors, traditional handicraft shops, and peaceful squares. Take your time to soak up the unique atmosphere, meet local artisans, enjoy authentic Moroccan cuisine, and capture unforgettable photographs of this picturesque mountain town.

Whether you choose to explore the medina, admire the panoramic views, or simply relax over a traditional Moroccan mint tea, Chefchaouen offers plenty of opportunities to create your own memorable experiences.

In the evening, return to your charming riad in the heart of the medina for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 4 : Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes :

After breakfast at your beautiful riad, set off on a fascinating journey toward Fes, passing through the scenic landscapes of northern Morocco and the town of Ouazzane.

Your first major stop will be Volubilis, one of Morocco’s most remarkable archaeological treasures and a fascinating window into the country’s Roman past. Explore the remarkably preserved ancient ruins, including impressive columns, monumental remains, and some of the finest Roman mosaics found in Morocco, dating back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries.

Continue your journey to Meknes, the historic Ismaili capital of Morocco. Discover the city’s magnificent Bab Mansour, one of the country’s most spectacular monumental gates, commissioned during the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail. You’ll also visit the impressive Royal Granaries and Sahrij Souani, an ingenious complex once used to store grain and manage water for the royal stables and surrounding gardens.

After exploring the highlights of Meknes, continue your drive toward Fes, one of Morocco’s most celebrated imperial cities and a remarkable center of history, culture, and traditional craftsmanship.

Upon arrival, check into a charming and elegant riad in the heart of the historic medina, where you can relax and prepare for your next Moroccan adventure.

Day 5 : Explore Fes – The Spiritual & Cultural Capital of Morocco

After breakfast at your riad, begin a full day of discovery in Fes, often referred to as the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco.

Spend the morning exploring the fascinating Fes el-Bali, the historic medina and one of the largest car-free urban areas in the world. Wander through its maze of narrow streets and lively souks while discovering centuries-old traditions, beautiful architecture, and the craftsmanship for which Fes is renowned.

Visit some of the city’s most important cultural and historical landmarks, including the famous Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, traditionally recognized as one of the world’s oldest continuously operating centers of higher learning. Continue to the historic tanneries, where traditional leather-making techniques have been practiced for generations, and admire the elegant Nejjarine Fountain, a masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship.

After lunch, leave the medina behind to explore another side of Fes. Visit the impressive Royal Palace gates, then stroll through the historic Mellah, the former Jewish Quarter, where you can discover a unique chapter of the city’s multicultural heritage.

Continue to a local pottery and ceramics cooperative, where skilled artisans demonstrate traditional Moroccan techniques and create beautifully crafted pieces.

In the afternoon, head to one of the city’s historic viewpoints and enjoy a spectacular panoramic view over the ancient medina of Fes. It’s the perfect opportunity to appreciate the scale and beauty of this remarkable imperial city while capturing unforgettable photographs.

Return to your riad in the evening to relax and enjoy another night surrounded by the authentic atmosphere of the Fes medina.

Day 6 : Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert :

After breakfast at your riad, leave Fes behind and begin an unforgettable journey south toward Merzouga and the Sahara Desert. Today is one of the most scenic and adventurous days of your Moroccan journey, taking you through the dramatic landscapes of the Middle Atlas and the gateway to the Sahara.

Your first stop is Ifrane, often nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture, green surroundings, and mountain atmosphere. Continue through the spectacular Middle Atlas Mountains toward the famous Cedar Forest, one of Morocco’s largest cedar forests. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to encounter the region’s playful Barbary macaques in their natural environment.

Continue your journey to Midelt, known for its impressive mountain scenery and local agricultural products. After lunch, the landscape gradually transforms as you travel toward the desert, revealing a fascinating transition from lush mountain terrain to arid landscapes.

Continue along the breathtaking Ziz Valley, where dramatic cliffs, palm-filled oases, and sweeping panoramic views create some of the most memorable scenery of the day. Along the way, make stops at scenic viewpoints before continuing through traditional Berber villages toward Erfoud, famous for its fossil and stone craftsmanship.

By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the majestic Sahara Desert. Prepare for one of the highlights of your Moroccan adventure: climb onto your camel and ride across the golden dunes as the sun begins to set, creating an unforgettable desert panorama.

Arrive at your traditional Sahara desert camp, where a warm Moroccan dinner awaits. As night falls, gather around the campfire and enjoy authentic Berber music and rhythms performed by local musicians.

Day 7 : Sahara Desert – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley :

Wake up early to one of the most magical moments of your Moroccan adventure,  you can climb to a scenic spot among the dunes and watch the Sahara sunrise as the first rays of light transform the golden sands into spectacular shades of orange and red.

Return to camp for a delicious breakfast and a refreshing hot shower before continuing your journey toward Rissani, famous local market of the region, then to  Tinghir and the spectacular Todra Gorges.

Upon arrival, explore the dramatic canyon, famous for its towering limestone cliffs and narrow passages. Take a leisurely walk or hike through the Todra Valley, surrounded by breathtaking rock formations and lush palm groves—a striking contrast to the surrounding desert landscape.

Continue through the scenic Dades Valley, one of Morocco’s most beautiful routes, where dramatic mountains, winding roads, traditional villages, and lush oases create unforgettable scenery.

Along the way, discover the fascinating rock formations known as “Monkey Toes,” sculpted naturally over time and adding to the unique character of the Dades landscape.

Day 8 : Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech :

After breakfast, continue your journey through the spectacular Dades Valley, following the legendary “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” This scenic route winds through dramatic landscapes, lush oases, traditional Berber villages, and countless ancient kasbahs, offering some of the most impressive photography opportunities of your Moroccan adventure.

Your first stop will be Kalaat M’Gouna, famously known as the “Rose City.” Renowned for its fragrant rose gardens and traditional rose products, this charming town is the perfect place to discover local craftsmanship and perhaps pick up some authentic Moroccan rosewater and cosmetics as a special souvenir.

Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa” thanks to its long history as a filming destination. From here, travel to the spectacular Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Enjoy lunch near this extraordinary kasbah before exploring its ancient earthen architecture, winding pathways, and panoramic views. Ait Ben Haddou has provided a dramatic backdrop for numerous international film and television productions, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.

After exploring this remarkable piece of Moroccan heritage, continue your journey across the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass, reaching an altitude of approximately 2,260 metres. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery and make a memorable stop at a local women’s argan oil cooperative, where you can learn about the traditional production of Morocco’s famous argan oil and support local artisans.

Descend from the High Atlas toward the vibrant city of Marrakech, where your journey through Morocco’s mountains, valleys, and desert landscapes comes to a spectacular conclusion.

Day 9 : Marrakech City Tour:

Around 9:00 AM, begin your guided exploration of Marrakech, Morocco’s legendary “Red City.” Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, discover the city’s fascinating history, vibrant culture, and remarkable architectural heritage.

Your tour begins with a visit to the Saadian Tombs, an extraordinary historic site decorated with intricate Moroccan craftsmanship. Continue to the magnificent Bahia Palace, renowned for its beautiful courtyards, gardens, colorful zellige tiles, and traditional Moroccan architecture.

Next, experience the lively atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna Square, the beating heart of Marrakech. Surrounded by storytellers, musicians, local vendors, and traditional food stalls, the square offers a fascinating glimpse into the city’s vibrant daily life.

Admire the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, Marrakech’s most famous landmark, before wandering through the maze of the Marrakech Souks. Explore the colorful traditional markets filled with spices, textiles, leather goods, handcrafted souvenirs, and local treasures.

After lunch, enjoy a visit to the world-famous Majorelle Garden, a peaceful botanical oasis celebrated for its striking blue architecture, exotic plants, and artistic atmosphere.

The remainder of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Take the opportunity to relax at your riad, explore more of the medina, shop for souvenirs, or simply enjoy a traditional Moroccan tea while soaking up the atmosphere of Marrakech.
