5 days tour From Marrakech To Sahara And Back

Day1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Benhaddou – City Of Roses:

Our 5 days tour from Marrakesh to sahara desert of Merzouga starts by crossing the High Atlas Mountains from the pass of Tizi n’Tichka with elevation of 2260m of the sea, these mountains offer fantastic views of rivers and Berber villages. Then, we drive towards one of the known Kasbahs in Morocco called ”Telout Kasbah” and to the universal Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by UNESCO in 1987, which is a home of international movies like; Game of Thrones, Lowrence of Arabia and much more. In this historical and cultural monument we will have a walking time in order to discover its main sides, after that probably we will have our lunch in one of its restaurants. After having lunch. We’ll continue our 5 days tour from Marrakech to Ouarzazate, or what we called Hollywood of Africa; known by its biggest Studio which are using to film national and international movies. Around 40 Km drive further we get to the palm groves of Skoura then to the famous city of roses in the country called Kalaat Maguna where we will have an overnight in one of its Riads with dinner and breakfast.

Day 2: City Of Roses – Dades – Todra Gorges – Tamtatoucht:

From the green valley of Kalaa full of roses fields, we go further southeast to Dades Gorges and then to Todgha gorges; which considered the highest and narrowest one in Morocco. Before we pass through a town called Tineghir the nerve centre of the area, we head along Todra valley which is huge by it’s oasis and palm groves where we could have a short walk across the palmary to explore the daily life of the locals, women in gardens gathering grass for cows and small kids ride donkeys. We continue up through the canyons of Todra which is famous for rock climbing and we can do trekking as well there before we drive to the Berber village of Tamtatoucht where we spend the night in an Auberge/ Riad.

Day 3: Tamtatoucht – Amelagou – Merzouga Dunes (Erg Chebbi) and camel trekking:

From Tamtatoucht we go up along less touristic landscapes and mountains to an altitude of 2000m where many Berber villages in the valley of Ait Hani, before we pass through a small town called Assoul & Amelagou the nerve centers of the area, a long the way between villages we will see many nomads with thier animals like cheep and goats living a primitive life inside the caves, even this hard life you find them pride and with a deeper smile which shows their hospitality while you get to their simple world[ be prepared for emotional moments when you get in touch with those white hearts]. After a while of driving and having lunch in one of villages we will get to Erfoud, it’s very known with it’s fossil’s factories where they create a beautiful shapes and pieces from rock of mountains. Then we’ll head to the Erg Chebbi dunes where we will have a heart breaking panoramic of golden sand and nice spots for amazing pictures. Then, we drive beside the dunes till we get to where you will ride a peaceful camel with the help of a professional camelman( around 1 hour going up and down on the dunes) your tent within the camp will be given to you while you reach there, welcoming tea then free time till dinner time, when you finish dinner entertainment time will start by listening to Berber music played by locals under starry sky and dancing barefoot touching the sand which could be the most spiritual thing you could ever do in your life in a peacefuk atmosphere. The entire night will be free world for you.

DAY 4: Merzouga – Tazarine – Agdez – Ouarzazate:

After enjoying the amazing sunrise among the sand dunes and breakfast, you ride back your camels to the Auberge/Riad. A short time for shower then we leave to Agdez on a different road via Rissani. We pass through Alnif with its charming landscapes full of black mountains and Acacia tree looks like you are in another african country ”Tanzana”, then N’kob, where we will stop for lunch. As far we will cross the Draa Valley one of the biggest valleys in Morocco, big with it’s huge member of palm trees. From here we will cross Atlas Mountains from the canyon of Ait Sawn which offers amazing views till we get to Ouarzazate where we will spend the night in one of the Riads.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech:

After breakfast, you can have time in order to visit the filmmaking studios, there we can travel along the huge history of filmmaking industry in Hollywood of Africa, before we drive towards Marrakesh via Tizi N’Tichka pass, we will have time to stop and enjoy impressive landscapes and Berber towns, and break for lunch before we get to Marrakech where our 5 days tour ends.
