DAY 1 : FES – IFRANE – AZROU – MIDELT – ERFOUD – sahara:
In this first day of https://www.discovermoroccotrips.com/2-days-tour-fes-merzouga/ we will meet you in airport or the riad where you are, and start our trip from Fes travelling south to Merzouga via Midelt and Errachidia. Your first stop will be at Ifrane city, referred as “the Switzerland of Morocco”, and then to Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz Valley. During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at the famous cedar forest – the largest one in Morocco – where you will have the opportunity to see the Barbarian Monkeys. You’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the Er Rachidia city.we will have lunch in Midelt, then your journey continues along the spectacular Ziz Valley, seeing a panoramic views along the way. We will drive through Berber villages to Erfoud, then to Rissani ; the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty – the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Arriving in Merzouga at the end of the day, you’ll ride a peaceful camel to see the sunset in the middle of the highest sand dunes in Morocco and spend the night there. Overnight at desert camp where you will have your dinner and enjoy Berber drums music played by locals.
DAY 2 : ERG CHEBBI – FES :
A camel guide will wake you up early to see what well may be the best sunrise in your life. Afterwards, you’ll peacefully take camel-trek back to your riad appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast and shower in the local guest house.Then, we’ll travel to Fes via Errachidia along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, and through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt, stopping in Zaida to enjoy a barbecue and refresh with a glass of mint tea before continuing to Azrou, a Berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we’ll stop to see the Barbarian apes in the cedar forest. Then we continue our way to Ifrane where you can take a memorable pictures before arriving at your accommodation where the tour from Fes ends.
